Thank you for recently choosing Powerboat Training UK/Aquasafe Powerboat School for your RYA Powerboat Advanced course. We fully understand that there are plenty of schools out there to choose from so we are delighted that you chose us. As your Instructor will have explained please do not hesitate to contact us with questions on any aspects of boating in the weeks, months or even years ahead – we love chatting boats!
The next step is to consider the Advanced Powerboat Certificate of Competence (the ‘Advanced Exam’) and then potentially getting this ‘Commercially Endorsed’. Your instructor will have explained in your individual debrief (if relevant) what areas you should concentrate on practicing before sitting the exam and of course we’d be delighted to assist so if this is of interest please call/email us. We train many people each year to achieve commercial qualifications from the military to leisure boaters keen to take that ‘next step’ so have a good understanding of the process and run plenty of the relevant courses. We are always happy to discuss any questions you have on the phone or face to face in the office – whatever works best.
| If you haven’t booked a VHF course yet then we would strongly advise you consider doing so. There is a special offer available reducing the price substantially from £100 to £75 (plus RYA fee) for those that book the course at the time of booking their Advanced course or in the few weeks after attending the course. This can either be online or in the classroom. |  |
| If you are intending on working commercially, as an instructor or just want a good basis in case you have to treat someone on the water then the First Aid Course is for you. |  |
| If you have a radar on your own boat or are thinking of progressing towards the Advanced or Yachtmaster Commercial Endorsement then we would recommend doing the Radar Course. |  |
If you want to get out on the water and put the skills that we covered on the course into practice then we have two great options for you. Solent RIB Charter are based in Lymington and can offer boats for charter in the Solent or here in Poole. Poole Boat Hire are based in Poole and offer the opportunity to hire slightly smaller dory type craft by the hour or day. Please mention Powerboat Training UK/Aquasafe Powerboat School when booking. Alternatively if you would like some additional time afloat in one of our school RIBs with an Instructor then this is something that can be arranged. We can do a passage along the coast or stay in the harbour for the day. You could even bring friends along for the ride. As much (or as little) learning and driving as you want. Just call/email for prices and information.
