Nye Davies

Nye joined the Instructor team in 2007 and has gone on to be an absolutely key part of the team at PTUK. We were delighted in 2010 when Nye was invited by the RYA to attend the annual RYA Powerboat Trainers Course.

Powerboat Trainers are appointed by the RYA to teach people to become Powerboat Instructors. As we all knew he would Nye passed with flying colours and has gone on to run a large number of Instructor courses. Nye has a massive amount of experience across a range of craft including powerboats, yachts and large motor cruisers and runs many of our Yachtmaster Offshore examination preparation courses. In early 2014 Nye was asked to attend one of the inaugural RYA Cruising Instructor Trainer Courses and as expected was then appointed to be able to train Instructors in the motor cruising scheme too. Nye is an avid sailor and a number of years ago took part in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race, he races yachts and often leads the R19 fleet in Poole Harbour.

Nye’s passion for everything that floats really comes across on his courses and those that are trained by him have a fun and massively informative time with him.
