In 2007 we saw
the introduction of a new specialist RYA course dedicated to addressing the
needs of Superyachts with Personal Watercraft on board.
The
Introduction to Personal Watercraft Safety Course is a new RYA course aimed
at guests on board a Superyacht whether under charter or with the owner on
board. Discussions between the PYA ("Professional Yachtsman's Association") & RYA have led to a scheme that allows a
Superyacht to become recognised as a RYA Training Centre and then with a RYA PW
Instructor on board they can run this new course allowing issue of a short term
and vessel specific licence to charter guests, regular guests and crew.

Powerboat
Training UK are specialists in PWC & Powerboat Instructor training and provide
PW & Powerboat Instructor Training Courses, indeed two of the Trainers that
work at the school (one of which was Paul Glatzel) ran the first of the
Instructor Courses aimed at this new market for the RYA in Antibes in April 2007

yachts to become RYA Training Centres creating all necessary documentation and
procedures – most notably we undertook this for the first yacht to achieve such
recognition – MY Kogo.
