CQBHA training – Using your VHF @ 12 noon - General
Another session that suits all ‘types’ of boaters with this session focussing on teaching you how to make VHF calls and then undertaking some hands-on practice making real calls on our training VHF system.
Using your VHF radio effectively is a really key aspect of keeping you and those that go boating with you safe. This session focusses on improving your skills making sure that you know how to use a VHF radio properly and what channels to use when. We have a full training radio system that uses real radios so we’ll use those with you so that you can practice in a relaxed friendly environment. A great session for all boaters!

1.5 hours starting at 12 noon

There are generally 6-8 people on this session.
Prior experience
None!
Minimum Age
8 – We are happy for a child over 8 to attend a course with their parent/guardian.

These sessions are run by us for free for the Berthholders association. Whilst free we’d like you to make a donation of £5 per session to the RNLI Poole Lifeboat Station.
If you have attended this session before then can we suggest that you dont immediately book as whilst we’d love to see you again it would be better to make spaces free for those that haven’t been before.
You can reserve places on this website but we’d ask that you pop in and see Ian at the Quay shop to give him the £5 per session donation. If you cannot make it in then let us know and you can pop it in our RNLI collection tub on the day
