It is really important that you choose the right course to address the particular training needs that you have which is why in this section of the website we've gone into as much detail as we have.

We are always happy to chat over your options with you and if we feel that you'd be better served by another school then we'll say so. After all our belief is that if we're honest with you you'll be happy to recommend us to others and use us in the future.

The Powerboat Scheme is aimed at craft up to about 33ft/10m. Almost all of the courses that we offer can be run on your boat. If you can do so then there are many advantages to training on your craft including of course it may prove cheaper. If you intend boating overseas then you'll almost certainly need to acquire an International Certificate of Competence. You need to ensure you get the right one though as they are available for craft up to 10m or up to 24m and each is achieved in a different way .... Learn more...
Of course you need to spend time afloat but it is often the shorebased courses where you have the time to really improve your knowledge and understanding of a variety of subjects.
